This thesis paper researches on the uses, effects, importance and implementation of acoustics in the architectural design consideration of a school. The need for a secondary school is of upmost importance in a child’s development into adulthood and education. However, in a modern-day school setting there seems to always be the recurring problem of reverberation and speech audibility in a classroom setting. This has been a major problem when designing a school, which has caused severe problems in impacting knowledge to the pupils of the school. There should be a promotion within the architectural sphere for more proposal of originality, creative and problem solving of acoustics in schools. This paper desires to display studies, journals, citing of articles, on the change that deals with architectural acoustics in schools. The paper studied European solution to acoustics problems and identified the problems of acoustics in local schools in Nigeria. Case studies were carried to
identify the problem of acoustics in other school and also provision of solutions to said problems. Recommendations were made on how to tackle each acoustic problem identified in the Nigerian schools and proper way to solve the problems.
